Diesel and tonnes

Track diesel and daily tonnes on a small mine, without the spreadsheet.

Diesel and tonnes usually get written on paper, then rebuilt at the end of the month. With Varo you tell Mercial when it happens, and the figures are already there.

How it works

  1. Tell Mercial. Type it, say it in the app, or send a WhatsApp message or voice note: "used 800 litres of diesel", "340 t today".
  2. Confirm with one tap. Mercial often repeats what it heard and asks if that is right before it logs the figure. Say yes, or fix it.
  3. See it on your dashboard. Nothing to open, nothing to add up.

What you see

  • Tonnes today, tonnes this week compared with last week, and your average per producing day.
  • Diesel used this week and diesel on hand.
  • Low stock when something drops to its reorder level, so a delivery can be arranged before the tank is empty.
  • A record of what was logged, with an undo if something was entered wrongly.

Getting the diesel on-hand figure right

You give Varo a starting diesel count once. After that, what you log moves it. Varo does not guess: if nothing has been logged yet, the dashboard says so rather than showing a zero that looks real.

What it does not do

  • It does not read a fuel meter or a weighbridge. It records what you or your supervisors tell it.
  • It does not tell you whether a diesel figure is reasonable for your equipment.
  • You cannot phone Mercial yet. Use the web app or WhatsApp.

Who can send figures

Anyone you add. A supervisor needs only a name and a WhatsApp number: no app to install, no sign-up. What they send is logged to your workspace under their name.
