Varo for small offices

Follow-ups, unpaid invoices and deadlines, kept by talking to Mercial.

If your day is invoices, chasing people, documents and dates, Varo is the colleague who remembers all of it. Tell Mercial what happened, and ask it what needs you today.

What it does in an office

  • Builds a simple dashboard for your work. When you sign up, Mercial asks what the business does. If it is not a mine, a farm, an accounting practice or an estate agency, you get four tiles: To follow up, Invoices waiting, Documents to file, and Next deadlines.
  • Counts who you still need to follow up. Keep the people you deal with in Varo, and the To follow up tile counts the ones you have not finished with.
  • Keeps the unpaid invoices list. Add an invoice on the Invoices screen, and the tile counts the ones still unpaid. Ask Mercial to chase one and it drafts the follow-up; a person reads it and sends it.
  • Keeps your documents in one place. Upload a file or a photo and it is stored in Documents. The Documents to file tile points you there; it does not count your files.
  • Keeps your dates in one list. An annual return, an insurance renewal, a licence: you enter the date with your own label, and Mercial reminds you of anything overdue or due inside two weeks.

A day with it

  1. You add the R12 400 invoice to Dlamini Trading on the Invoices screen.
  2. The Invoices tile counts it as waiting.
  3. When it has been quiet long enough, ask Mercial to chase it. It drafts a follow-up, and you read it, change it and send it.

What it does not do

  • It does not send anything to your customers by itself. Mercial drafts, a person reads and sends.
  • It does not know an invoice was paid until you tell it.
  • It does not file anything with SARS, CIPC or anyone else. Varo reminds and prepares; you file.
  • It is not your accountant or your lawyer, and it does not replace their advice.
  • You cannot phone Mercial yet. The web app and WhatsApp work today.
